Great Value, Good Sound
Date of Review: Aug 5, 2008
The Bottom Line: This speaker system was a great value, and it has incredible sound for its size.
These speakers were a great value for me. I got what I expected for what I paid, and satisfaction was quick in manifestation. After researching a few other options, I eventually settled on these Logitech R-20 2.1 speakers.
The best part of the package was the value. I needed speakers that were good enough for me but not too expensive. I found these for $29.99 at Circuit City, right in my price range. They were the best value I found for similar speakers. (Others I had viewed were up to $20 more for the same specifications.)
The two speakers put out a good range of sound. (Though stated many times, the sound for the price was awesome.) The high and middle frequencies came through beautifully, and volume was quite loud for such a tiny package.
The sub woofer was excellent as well. All lower frequencies were audible and clean. Without even turning up the volume to full, some of my favorite techno tracks reverberated all the way to the attic from my basement.(Yes, I actually ran through the house testing this.)
On the downside of the system, the speakers are not quite as loud as it seems they could be. A few extra dollars on a similar system may do the trick and push it up a notch. The power from the sub to the speakers cam via a cable similar to that of an s-video cable, which comes out easier than it should.(If you don t move the system much you should be fine.) Lastly, the lack of a bass control nob left me wanting when I desired a louder sound without as much bass.
